Okay, so a couple weeks ago I made a broad announcement that Jordan and I are leaving the country for a while and dumping our cat on my parents.
So here’s a better idea of what’s going to happen.
On Dec. 26th we are flying out of the Little Rock airport to head to Egypt. We’re doing a week-long tour there and promise to be safe. Next comes a few days in Dubai, a few days in Istanbul, and a week in Israel. It’s all budget travel but will be fantastic because our bodies are young and can take uncomfortable places!
We will wave to Athens and Rome at some long layovers, then head to South America. This is where the plan gets fuzzier. We will land in Buenos Aires, Argentina in late January and work at a hostel for a month or so. I will cook and serve breakfast, and Jordan will be the maintenance man. Jordan will definitely take some Spanish lessons, and I probably will also. We hope to spend two months total in Argentina, then roughly a month in Chile, a month in Peru, and then a month in Costa Rica or Panama.
Basically, we will travel for as long as the money lasts, and then we’ll come back to real life. Originally we planned to be gone until late June, but we may come home a little earlier. We will see how far money will go in South America.
Do you have any thoughts or advice for us?
Soon I will begin a series on how we’re traveling abroad and tips for how to be prepared.
